The 4th Forum on the Sustainability of the Swiss Healthcare System

Resilience of healthcare services – making sustainability in healthcare sustainable.

Following a brutally hot summer that has brought the effects of climate change on health – and the resulting strain on healthcare services – into sharp relief, it is time to ask: What strategies are needed to ensure that healthcare systems become agile and remain capable of fulfilling their remit in the long term, whilst being able to cope with future crises and shortages?

At the ETHICH Forum, these questions will be explored in depth through a range of crisis scenarios – whether anticipated, isolated or recurring – such as shortages of healthcare professionals, supply chain disruptions or extreme weather events.

Although the theme of this forum may seem dark at first glance, it is in fact intended as a call for creativity, so that the incredible momentum towards sustainability that our societies have experienced in recent years can be revitalised for the benefit of us all.

In addition to the plenary sessions, the Forum will feature workshops and, as usual, poster presentations on projects relating to the sustainability of Swiss healthcare services. The deadline for submitting proposals for posters and workshops has been extended to 30 September 2026.

Continuing Education Credits

Participation in the Forum entitles attendees to 3 continuing medical education credits in General Internal Medicine. A certificate of attendance will be sent to each participant after the Forum.
